To create full-color images, most DLP projection TVs use a lamp-and-color-wheel system. But laser beams are the purest known light source, producing the widest range of colors. In fact, the LaserVue color range measures over 200% of the color gamut for broadcast HDTV. You've simply never seen a TV with colors this deeply saturated. And because lasers are a permanent light source, their color accuracy and brightness remain consistent over time — you'll never have to replace a bulb.

The L65-A90's picture contrast and black levels are also exceptional. The lasers switch on and off much more rapidly than any color wheel, responding instantly and precisely to create smooth, cinematic images with deep, velvety blacks and extraordinary shadow detail. Lasers are also extremely efficient. The L65-A90 only consumes about one-third the power of comparably-sized flat-panel LCD TVs, and one-fourth the power of plasma displays.

The L65-A90's "jack pack" emphasizes high-def signals, with four 1080p-compatible HDMI inputs, plus three HD-capable component video inputs. This model also features Mitsubishi's NetCommand® control system, which lets you operate almost any brand of cable or satellite TV set-top box, plus other components, using only the TV's remote.
