The technology at the center of Toshiba DLP TV is a proprietary Digital Light Engine named TALEN (Toshiba Advanced Light Engine) designed and manufactured by Toshiba. This new system utilizes Texas Instruments' brand new step-up HD2+ chip to provide high resolution DLP projection with enhanced brightness and contrast. At less than 16 inches deep, these sets have a sleek, flat panel-like appearance and occupy considerably less space than traditional rear projection TV sets.
