Mitsubishi to Cease LCD production in favor of DLP TV

In 2011 Mitsubishi will cease production of CCFL and LED back lit flat screen televisions to concentrate on its rear projection televisions.

The company is restructuring and will reduce the workforce, the remaining A/V division will focus on DLP and Laservue televisions 73" and larger. Mitsubishi wishes to reclaim its status as "the large screen company".
